Mission Statement

Welcome to The Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography (JUE). The JUE is an online publication for undergraduate academic writing. The JUE seeks to distribute original scholarly ethnographies from a variety of disciplinary areas. Our goal is to bring readers, especially other undergraduates, insights into subcultures, rituals, and social institutions. We expect crossovers with anthropology, sociology, American studies, urban studies as well as programs in education or marketing.

We're an Open Access journal. We want to maximize exposure and distribution for our authors. There are no access costs to readers and no publication costs to authors. However, to protect an author's intellectual work we use a strict Creative Commons license that allows "others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially." Authors retain the right to grant other permissions.
